2D Digital Practice - Finalising touches - Week 7

The development of the University of Infected is officially complete. Now what is left is to do the final touches to the game in order to make sure it's to an efficient standard. I have made some changes to the art and game overall which I'll explain what I've done

One of the finalising touches I made to the game was the Main Menu. I decided to redesign the logo of the University of Infected to make it look more redefined and presentable, whilst adding more detail to the text. I also changed the background to a much more appealing one compared to the previous one as in my opinion, I felt that the original background lacked style and it was relatively dark which did not suit the theme that I was trying to aim for. Furthermore, I feel that this background has more style with the colour gradient, shading and 3D effect, and it also has a dark and eerie atmosphere towards it which the previous background was lacking.

Another finalising improvement I've made for the University of Infected is improving the animation for the player. Originally, the animation for the movement of the player was restricted as it only played 2 animations - Idle and Walk. Whatever direction the player was to walk in, the same walk animation would play which made the movement feel unrealistic and aesthetically unpleasing. Therefore, I made improvements to the animation so that whatever direction the character goes, the animation will be different which makes movement look much more pleasing for the game.
